Dr. Cameron Sikes

Dr. Cameron Sikes was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma and grew up playing basketball and golf. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2013 with a degree in Biology. While at OSU, he was an active member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. OSU is also where he met his wife, Kingfisher native, Alex Blair. He went on to attend the Oklahoma College of Optometry, where he developed a passion for the treatment of dry eye. This led him to focus his research on how to utilize new technology to treat this common eye condition. His work received national attention and he was awarded the HOACLS Student Research Award, which is given to the top 5 student research projects nationwide. Cameron completed his externship at Harrel Eyecare Tulsa, learning from another Kingfisher native, Monte Harrel. Here he furthered his experience with the latest dry eye treatment options. Cameron was also recognized by his professors as the recipient of the Oklahoma College of Optometry Excellence in Contact Lens Award.

After graduating Optometry school, in the Spring of 2017, Cameron spent the next four years working at the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Health Clinic in Shawnee. During this time, he sharpened his skills in the management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. After one year, he was named Supervisor of Optometry.

Although he enjoyed his time in Shawnee, Cameron and Alex knew they wanted to eventually raise their family in Kingfisher. It was at this time he reached out to Dr. McMullin to discuss any future opportunities at his practice. Starting January of 2018, Cameron began seeing patients with Dr. McMullin every Monday while still maintaining his position in Shawnee. In June of 2021, he moved to Kingfisher full time. He is now an active member of the Kingfisher Lion’s Club. On his days off, you’ll find him on the golf course.

Dr. Gerald McMullin

Dr. McMullin moved to Kingfisher as a child and again following graduation from Optometry School and a brief employment in Oregon where he met his late wife of 26 years who blessed him with 4 daughters. In 1987, Dr. McMullin bought the practice from Dr. Roy McDonald. Dr. McMullin is enjoying the more relaxed life of no longer being the owner but still comes by on Wednesdays to see his patients.

Dr. Sikes & Dr. McMullin are now working together at the newly renamed Kingfisher Family Eyecare, taking care of all eye and vision needs for Kingfisher and the surrounding communities as they have done for over 40 years. Dr. Sikes has brought a modern approach to eye exams, providing thorough but efficient care to all of his patients. Both Drs. Sikes and McMullin are currently accepting new patients, as well as continuing to provide excellent, personalized care to their current patients. We look forward to seeing you!
